Hallo zusammen,

-----------------------------------
Subject: Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Enhancements to Support the Launch of Ford's Global
Product Development System (GPDS)

As Ford Motor Company begins the full-scale implementation of our Global Product Development System (GPDS), I
am pleased to announce that we have made significant enhancements to our supporting Advanced Product Quality
Planning disciplines. The primary enhancements include:
• Supplier APQP/PPAP Readiness Assessment – Schedule A: A single global APQP assessment
document to replace the different versions currently in use.
• GPDS Supplier Engagement Process: A disciplined cross-functional team approach for supporting critical
parts on major new programs.
Many of you may be participating in programs that are beginning to utilize these enhancements, so we have updated
our online documentation on the Ford Supplier Portal along with the supporting ISO/TS 16949 Ford Customer
Specifics to reflect the enhancements. Details are noted below. Please cascade this information to your internal
teams interfacing with Ford.

Supplier APQP/PPAP Readiness Assessment - Schedule A
The Schedule A documentation will replace the APQP Version 3.2 and 3.1 (Pan Brand Europe) effective 11th
February, 2008. After this date all APQP submissions to Ford for GPDS Programs should utilize this reporting format.
Please check with your STA Engineer for confirmation as several European programs may continue to use version
3.1 for an interim period. (Note: Schedule A requires Excel 2003 or above version for compatibility).
Schedule A and supporting reference/training material can be accessed at the Ford Supplier Portal (FSP)
https://fsp.covisint.com. After logging in, go to the bottom of the page under “Important Documents” and click on
Quality System and Supplier Documents. Look for the section titled "APQP" and access accordingly.

GPDS Supplier Engagement Process
The GPDS Supplier Engagement Process defines a cross-functional framework for helping critical suppliers on major
program launches. The process outlines a disciplined set of activities and deliverables for Ford internal teams to
work more closely with the supply base starting earlier in the development process. The GPDS Supplier
Engagement Process will replace the High Impact and Launch Readiness Review processes used today.
While suppliers will be invited for training as they become involved in new model program activity, you are
encouraged to review the training and reference material at any time on the Ford Supplier Portal under the section
titled "GPDS" in the location noted above.

Next Steps:
1. Please review this information on the Ford Supplier Portal – note that Ford's ISO/TS 16949 Customer
Specifics have been updated to reflect the use of Schedule A for all GPDS programs beginning 11th
February, 2008
2. Cascade this information to your teams working to launch new products for Ford Motor Company
These changes will help to better align Ford with the supply base to deliver an even higher level of product quality.
Thank you for your continued excellent support.
--------------------

...endlich mal was zu tun! :woohoo:

Viele Grüße

Andreas

Während "GPDS Supplier Engagement Process" beschreibt, wie der Lieferant seinen Status bezüglich Produktionsteilfreigabeaktivitäten zu berichten hat, erklärt "VDQT&I", was während der Produkt- und Prozessentwicklung gefordert wird. Somit bildet "VDQT&I" die Grundlage zur Teilnahme am "GPDS Supplier Engagement Process".
