Dengelen - Micro forging
The hammer is a carbide sphere, which performs an oscillating movement with a high frequency of up to 500 Hz.
The frequency and the stroke can be varied within certain limits.
The result is a very smooth surface and an increased hardness up to 2mm from the surface.
No polishing is required a surface quality of approx. Ra 0.25 μm can be achieved. The process is applied after finish milling.
The hammering head is handled as a tool out of the tool magazine and the system can be integrated also as a retrofit on existing machines.
